As a Chartered Physiotherapist with an interest in Neurology, I work with people who have suffered neurological impairment such as Stroke, Motor Neurone Disease, Parkinson’s and Multiple Sclerosis, for example. This involves assessment, treatment and management, focusing on rehabilitation of normal movement for the individual and is based on a physical assessment of the person within their home. My work is home based: I work in the community setting, so I visit you at your home. I have 13 years experience with the National Health Service both in the hospital and community setting. Physiotherapy promotes physical activity and therefore I educate and guide clients about the most effective types of exercise to maintain function and independence. I am also working on starting up a community strength and balance class for those who are able to attend a group outside of home therapy.
